- What clutch upgrades are available? From
where?
I know of two clutch/flywheel packages that are available right now.
Both AWE and APR
offer a lightened aluminum flywheel in their packages. They retail for
~$1000.
- I don't like the shifter feel on my A4. What can I do about it? What
short shifter
kits are available? From where?
If you'd like to reduce some of the slop in the stock shifter, you can
install a shoft shifter kit. The SS from UUC
(AWE, Stratmosphere)
reduces the throw by 20% and retains stock shifter height. The SS from
Neuspeed (Greedspeed)
reduces the throw by 35% and lowers the shifter height by 1.5". Both
are quality units.
- I have a Tiptronic A4. Is there any way to shorten the delay time
between me pushing the button and the car actually executing the shift? Where can I find
this?
Yes, there is a way to shorten the delay between shifts. GIAC
offers a Tip Chip that claims to reduce the time between gear shifts from
~1 sec. to ~0.2 secs.
- How much HP/torque can my Tiptronic transmission hold?
From the AudiWorld archives, it seems that the Tip transmission can withstand
up to only 230HP and 230ft-lbs of torque. You can try pushing it, but
I'd say 230/230 is a safe limit.
