Exhaust

- How is the exhaust system set up on the A4? I'm confused by the location of the catalytic converter and the downpipe? What is the order?
Traditionally, exhaust systems for turbocharged cars have been set up in this order:
* turbo -> downpipe -> catalytic converter -> center resonator -> muffler

On the A4, however, the exhaust system is in this order:
* turbo -> catalytic converter -> downpipe -> center resonator -> muffler

- What exhaust systems are available?
There are three types of exhaust systems available for the A4:

* Cat-back
systems include the downpipe, center section, and muffler:
Borla 2.25" [AWE]
Neuspeed/Borla 2.5" [Greedspeed]
APR 2.5"
Fox 2.5" [MachV]
Brullen 2.5" [Lltek]
Forge-Milltek [Stratmosphere]
MTM

* Slip-joint
back systems are essentially downpipe-back. They include only the center section and the muffler:
Scorpion 70mm [TAP]
Supersprint 2.25" [PES, RPI Equipped]
HKS Klasse 2.4" [MachV]
ABT
Oettinger
Jetex
Sebring
Stebro
Techtonics 2.5"

* Muffler
